MVBT Re-Opening – Welcome Back in Person

The values of the Mountain View Buddhist Temple places emphasis both on ensuring the safety of our community and taking responsibility as individuals to look out for our collective well-being.  In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, our Temple essentially closed from March of 2020 until late August of 2022.

In re-opening the Temple, we are welcoming our community back with some guidelines to keep ourselves safe and healthy.  As a Sangha, it is very heart-warming to see kids/adult/Senior taiko, Senior Activities, BWA Meetings, YA Basketball/Volleyball and Ukulele Club & Choir as well as regular Sunday Services and more, ALL on the MVBT campus enjoying gathering again.

Please come out and join in the fun and see everyone that you have been missing these last two+ years.  These guidelines will be reviewed again in the beginning of 2023.

Masking is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED for any indoor activity and RECOMMENDED for outdoor activity.  Certain activities such as Services in the hondo or Dharma School classes or visits to the Temple office will REQUIRE masking.

Following CDC Guidelines for COVID Symptoms, Testing and Exposure, DO NOT ATTEND IF:

  • Fever over 100 degrees within the previous 24 hours
  • Exhibit symptoms of COVID-19
  • Tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 5 days

AirCirculation/Purification was added to the Hondo and Dharma School Classrooms.  Upgrade to touchless faucets were made across the MVBT campus.  Electrostatic Sprayers with Disinfectant is available and is used after all large gatherings .
