We often take for granted the beautiful adornments of our onaijin. One of the lovely features of the altar is the floral arrangements. We are so fortunate to have Julie Nakatani, an Ikebana Sensei, arrange the flowers every week and create floral designs for special services as needed. It also requires cleaning up and planning for the next week’s arrangements. It takes a lot of WORK!
The next time you are at service, please be sure to appreciate the beautiful arrangements. Look not only for the main floral design, but spot the other two (twin) designs on the altar.
Since Julie is anticipating some conflicts between the Temple and her personal schedule, we have gathered a few folks to train to be able to provide floral arrangements in her absence.
