The Brownie and Cadette Scouts had their first in-person meeting. They prepared for their upcoming service project for The Crayon Initiative by making collection boxes.
The girls also learned how to make spam musubi and onigiri, and they talked about ideas for a fun trip.
The girls became chefs for a day and made sago (a Chinese dessert), spam musubi and yaki onigiri.
Our Girl Scouts participated in the Flag Ceremony held before the Temple’s annual Keiro Kai celebration.
The Crayon Initiative
The Brownie/Cadette Troop is collecting used crayons for The Crayon Initiative, which takes used crayons, remanufactures them into new crayons, and donates them to children’s hospitals. You will find donation boxes in the YBA Hall, Sangha Hall and the hondo! We will be collecting until the end of February!
