June Meeting
To conclude our year, we held our final meeting on Sunday, June 1. During the meeting, although we started off with our usual business [discussing past events such as our Dana Project to raise money for the Alma Bonita Animal Rescue, and future events such as our social event, which is still, fortunately, far off as well as our Obon booth, Flip the Brick (formerly known as Shooting Gallery – reason for change still not released as public knowledge)], we finished the meeting with fun games and sweet treats.
We played three cup stacking games, in which it must be noted that Team 1 (my team) won. As a well-deserved prize, we received Hi-Chews. However, these were not the only sweets we ate. One of our advisors had also purchased ice cream sandwiches from Safeway across the street that very same morning, and, so I hear, had help from her daughter.
Naturally, as always, we closed out the meeting with closing gassho and the monthly AED checks.
8th Grade Graduates & Incoming 6th Graders
Although we were, of course, deeply distraught at the end of yet another magnificent year of wonderful work, we are glad to see our 8th Grade members move on to the next chapter of their careers here at MVBT, YBA, and look forward with much excitement to welcoming our incoming 6th Graders and any other new members interested in joining this illustrious organization.
