Summer has come to an end, and I am looking forward to seeing all of our Dharma School families when Dharma School resumes on Sunday, September 7!
Dharma School extends the core purpose of our Buddhist tradition to break down barriers for our current and future generations of young Buddhists to hear, see, and live the teachings of the Buddha with a deep-rooted belief in the Nembutsu, and our teachers work hard to create age-appropriate lessons on what it means to be a Jodo Shinshu Buddhist and cultivate a valuable appreciation and understanding of the Dharma. Whether a student can attend one class or one hundred classes, we would like to welcome them to learn about sharing the Dharma and to be a part of our community – please encourage your friends and family members to enroll in our Mountain View Buddhist Temple Dharma School to keep our program dynamic, diverse, and engaging.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Obon
Special thanks goes to Janell Tao and Cheryl Shay for chairing the Duck Pond and Grab Bag booths. Thank you to Aly Makishima for coordinating the Dharma School displays, and Cindy Hiroshige and Janell Tao for coordinating and preparing the post-Obon volunteer dinner. And a big Thank You to all of the Dharma School families who volunteered throughout Obon and supported our Temple community! Obon really brings everyone together, to support one another and our Temple community, and it’s a tangible example of interconnectedness and interdependence.
In Gassho,
Brent Izutsu
