Cook’s Pine Tree in Parking Lot

May 15, 1964, is a date to be remembered by the members of the Mountain View Buddhist Temple.  The Lord Abbot Kosho Ohtani and Lady Ohtani of the Kyoto Nishi Hongwanji visited our Temple.  A Cook’s pine tree was planted by the Lord Abbot to commemorate the visit.  The tree has since taken firm hold in the ground and the branches have extended high and wide into the sky as if to encourage us to earnestly follow the Nembutsu Path.
