Obon Festival & Bazaar
ABA supported the Obon this year by selling Chicken Teriyaki and Spam Musubi. Thanks to Steve Tsuchida, who chaired the booth with committee members, Russ Nakano, Shirley Matsumoto, Lois Okino, Reiko Tsuchida and Ken Nakano. More thanks to all the ABA members who signed up for the booth shifts on Saturday and Sunday.
San Jose Giants Game
On August 16, ABA reserved the VIP Deck at Excite Ballpark (formerly SJ Municipal Stadium) to watch the Stockton Ports vs. San Jose Giants baseball game. Forty-five of us enjoyed a relaxing evening of BBQ food, drinks and exciting baseball with an evening ending closeup fireworks show following the game (the Giants won in the 9th inning, 9-8, with a walk off single!).
We are very grateful to Joanne Makishima who has coordinated this event every year and this one was the 12th consecutive! Go Giants!
Sasaki Memorial Golf Tournament
On the next day, August 17, ABA members assisted with the Sasaki Memorial Golf Tournament and dinner chaired by Steve Tsuchida.
