Eitaikyo Service
The Eitaikyo Service was held on Sunday, Novem- ber 16, 2025. The guest speaker was Rinban Ger- ald Sakamoto, Head minister of the San Jose Bud- dhist Church Betsuin. The Eitaikyo Service is a time when we remember all those whose contributions to our Temple in the past that allow us to continue to hear the Dharma today.
Keiro Kai Luncheon
Following the Eitaikyo Service, the Mountain View Buddhist Temple honored & celebrated our Keiro Kai members who are over seventy years young at our annual luncheon. This year’s theme of “Kumihimo” or “Coming Together” exemplifies our MVBT Keiro’s spirit of appreciation and coopera- tion that they shared between our multiple genera- tions. We had over 200 attendees that included 95 Keiros.
Mayor Ellen Kamei presented each Keiro with a commendation from the City of Mountain View. Also, each Keiro was given a hashi and hashi rest as their gift.
Special thank you to:
¨ The Dharma School students for making the placemats and Kumihimo bracelets.
¨ Garret, Caitlyn and Vanessa Higa who made the pipe cleaner flowers for the table centerpieces.
¨ Alex Tsukahara for the creation of the wonderful slide & video show of the Temple members through the years. Video narrators were Emi Hirabayashi and Garrett Tao.
¨ Eric Arakaki for providing the pictures.
¨ YABA, YBA and Miroku for their help.
¨ Wes Mukoyama (PABT member) who donated kaki to take home.
¨ Mike Inouye for being our luncheon Master of Ceremonies.
¨ Robbie Imai for making the dessert (cupcakes).
Thank You & Arigato to everyone who helped with this year’s Keiro Kai Luncheon. We couldn’t have done it without you.
With Gratitude & Appreciation,
Zones 2 & 10, the Keiro Kai Committee
