2023 5th/6th Grade Class Dana Project: Half Moon Bay Farmworker Aid

Dana Project held after Hanamatsuri Service on April 9

Earned $1,500 at Bake Sale;

BCA will match for a total of $3,000 for Farmworkers

The 5th/6th Grade Dharma School class chose helping the farmworkers in Half Moon Bay for our Dana project this year.

We are partnering with the Ayudando Latinos A Soñar (or ALAS) organization (https://www.alas dreams.com/) to raise funds to purchase much needed Safeway and CVS gift cards, and other household supplies for the farmworkers.

Successful Fundraiser – Thank You, Sangha!

Our fundraiser after Hanamatsuri was a huge success!  We are grateful to our parents who helped us with the setup and all during the event.  We want to thank everyone who contributed so many delicious baked goods—it was perfect timing for holiday gatherings!  Many thanks to our Sangha for your generosity.

Funds Will Help Half Moon Bay Community

We raised almost $1,500 including proceeds from selling the onenjus that we made over the past few weeks.  The BCA Social Welfare Committee will match our donation.  We are very excited that our efforts will help this overlooked community.

We greatly appreciate your support for our project.
